For me, summer is all about gathering family and friends and enjoying a Slovenian-style BBQ meal together. Čevapčiči are the perfect way to kick off the grilling season — tender, flavorful, and always a hit with everyone! This Slovenian-Style Čevapčiči recipe will bring your outdoor summer feasts to life with authentic taste and simple, homemade ingredients.

Ingredients
2 lbs lean ground beef
1 lb ground lamb
1 egg white
4 garlic cloves, minced (or more to taste)
1-3 tsp's of salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp’s black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp ground paprika
1 onion finely chopped
1. In a large bowl combine all the above ingredients together. Mix well with your hands. Form into finger length "sausages" about 3/4" inches in thickness. Place them on a tray or baking sheet.


2. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.
3. Preheat the grill to medium-low. Grilling should take about 30 minutes. Turn them while cooking.

*SERVING: Enjoy them with these delicious side ideas; Potato Cheese Casserole. Serve them in warmed lepinja (flatbread), topped with ajvar, chopped onions, tomatoes and sour cream. Dober Tek & Na zdrvaje!!!
